Management

On October 1, 2006, Astrum Inc. was acquired by a group of investors that included experts from a broad range of enterprise technical expertise
from sales, consulting and enterprise design and open source solution development with the sole purpose of taking a concept developed by David
Bunn a former Principal Technical Specialist with Novell Consulting and considered one of the foremost experts in Enterprise High Availability,
Business Continuity Clustering and Enterprise Network Design. The concept was simple, take an enterprise grade network with strong Identity
Management and Compliance based policy shields and house them in a hardened appliance with strong encryption. The team led by Dr. Patrick
Cush V.P of solution development felt that the industry was missing the sole purpose for security and that is to keep secrets secret. Astrum
Network Security was formed, managed by enterprise engineers with over 20 years of experience and has not and will never be driven by a follow
the leader mentality that our larger counterparts seem to live by.

Market Overview

Many organizations have had their brands severely tarnished and lost millions because sensitive customer structured and unstructured data is
being exposed. Further, a range of security and privacy policies are dictating that just about any large organization will need to encrypt sensitive
data held in structured and unstructured formats. For example, one leading analyst firm predicts that, by 2006, failure to encrypt credit card
numbers stored in a database will be considered legal negligence in civil cases of unauthorized disclosures. Visa, MasterCard, American Express
and other card issuers are mandating that organizations must encrypt credit card data or customer information stored in structured or unstructured
format. California privacy laws, GLBA, Sarbanes-Oxley and many other pieces of legislation are placing a premium on securing sensitive financial
and customer records.
